Our history
Restaurant Frkanj used to be a picnic area of the hotel company “Imperial” Rab. Guests were brought to Frkanj by wooden boats which, in addition to hot and relaxing summer evenings, additionally contributed to an almost unforgettable romantic atmosphere. Many summer loves were born here, which is confirmed by the very name that Frkanj bears – Island of Love. For guests were organized parties with food and drink, and the inevitable dance in the untouched Mediterranean natural environment. Even today, Restaurant Frkanj cultivates this tradition that dates back to the 60s of the last century.
About us
Restaurant “Frkanj” is located in the shade of a dense pine tree forest on the peninsula of the same name, which has been enjoyed for decades by tourists from around the world.
This restaurant is not your every day dining spot but rather a picnic area where you can stay all day, from an early brunch to a late dinner, enjoying a combination of well prepared food and a majestic view of the sea.
We offer a rich selection of meat and fish dishes , as well as meals we prepare with our own, home grown vegetables.
Our special offer is suckling pig or lamb from the spit prepared in our own traditional way that hasn’t changed for over 20 years, which we prepare every Thursday. Home made apple strudel is another local dish we offer every day , as a perfect way to ad something sweet to your meal.

A free dock space is available in Komunčica bay and near the restaurant. Larger boats and yachts can be docked on a buoy in the sea.

Boat ride
Take a ride with our traditional boats from the city to the Frkanj peninsula.
The drive is 15 minutes long and costs 5,50 EUR.
